Burlingame, CA - July 20, 2023 - One dead bird tests positive in San Mateo County. The San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District reports a dead bird has tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV) in San Mateo County. The dead bird, an American Crow, was collected from Redwood Shores. This is the first detection of WNV activity in San Mateo County in 2023.
