Open House - Next Saturday!

Visit us at our Open House, which will be held Saturday, June 21st from 12-4pm. Our staff will be on-hand to answer questions, display our equipment and insect collection, and offer a variety of hands-on activities for families to enjoy learning about mosquitoes and other vectors. There will be popsicles, face painting, and Beetle Lady's Pop-Up Bug Museum on-site!

National Mosquito Control Awareness Week - June 15-21

Our Open House is scheduled to help us wrap up National Mosquito Control Awareness Week, which is June 15-21 this year. This week is meant to recognize the important work our District, many other districts, and a variety of agencies and research institutions do on a daily basis to help protect public health.

Several cities and towns have recognized National Mosquito Control Awareness Week with proclamations and presentations by our District staff. We thank the following jurisdictions and their appointees to our Board of Trustees for allowing us to visit their city councils this year: Burlingame (Trustee Rena Gilligan), Colma (Trustee Laura Walsh), Foster City (Trustee Paul Norton), Hillsborough (Trustee Dr. Scott Smith), Millbrae (Trustee Muhammad Baluom), San Bruno (Trustee Robert Riechel), San Carlos (Trustee Ron Collins), and South San Francisco (Trustee Michael Yoshida).
