District Receives Financial Reporting Award for Fiscal Year Ended June 30, 2022

San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District Receives Financial Reporting Award

Burlingame, CA – Mar. 26, 2024 – The San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022.

The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

This is the fifth year in a row the District has received this Certificate. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.

“This award is a testament to the San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District’s dedication to open government and fiscal responsibility,” said the District’s Board President, Mason Brutschy. “District management and staff are to be commended for their efforts to empower the public with information and facilitate engagement and oversight.”

It is the mission of San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District to safeguard the health and comfort of everyone in San Mateo County through a planned program to monitor and reduce mosquitoes and other vectors.
