Post-Treatment Disease Surveillance Finds No West Nile Virus in Mosquitoes Trapped in East Palo Alto

The District laboratory has found no further sign of West Nile virus in mosquitoes trapped in areas of East Palo Alto after this week’s adult mosquito control treatment.

No further adult mosquito control treatments are scheduled for this area. However, ongoing efforts to control mosquito larvae in the area will continue. Residents are asked to dump and drain all standing water around their property and to report mosquito problems to San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District.

Basic precautions against mosquito bites are recommended in all areas of San Mateo County whenever mosquitoes are biting.
